V Algometry

Algometry is the medical term for pain measurement.  Thus we use a pressure sensitive device to measure the tender areas of your spinal joints and muscles.  Although pain is the end result of a critical build up of stress and tension through the muscle, joints and nerve tissue layers, we do measure the tenderness because a decrease in such pain is one of the first indicators that the body is beginning to release stress and tension.

In the diagram to the right values are in pounds/sq inch.  Thus, higher values indicate less tenderness, while lower values indicate more tenderness.   Tender  areas are always compared with non tender areas
